Irritating, only grabs a few hairs---Get Nair strips instead Jun 15, 2010 (-)Very Painful
(-)Plastic instead of cloth strips
(-)Not enough wax to pick up hairs
(+)It is cheap in stores compared to other wax strips
These were the first wax strips I tried and I would not buy again. I used them on my face and bikini line and they were extremely painful and not particularly effective. It's as painful and tedious as tweezing each hair. Nair wax strips Nair Hair Remover Soothing Wax Strips are a lot better. They are more expensive in stores (about the same price as SH on Amazon), but they come with a pre-wipe formula that desensitizes the skin. The wax is a soothing blue menthol and the strips have twice as much wax, so they pick up a lot more hair.
FIRST TIME WAXER & I LIKED IT! Jun 11, 2010 I'm a Jr in highschool, and I've always been seemingly mocked by the little hair lingering on my upper lip. I causually mentioned them to my parents and they said it was peach fuzz that would fade. (Last time I checked peach fuzz wasn't thick long hair that completely contrasted with your skin tone but anyways...) I tried secret, and self intervention in the privacy of my own room with a loop of thread with an attempt of threading, I pulled off one hair and I was done(hurt really bad!)...so that made epicare way out of the question(threading aka ripping a bunch of hairs out at a time) So today after not mentioning it to my mom, I brought it up again after I could see my illuminated mustache because of the sun gleaming through the windshield the way to walmart..she said 'Why don't you get self wax strips?' I saw a tutorial on youtube, but I had heard of some scary side effect..(discoloration, rashes, infection etc) But I bought them anyway to the unsightly caterpillar from under my nose.(kinda exaggerating but oh well:)
I read the simple directions, and rubbed the skinny strips creating friction to warm it up. I then peeled and applied. The first time I didn't rip fast enough so I re-applied again..and peeled faster. It took a bunch of hairs right off!
So in conclusion, I'm satisfied. The actual waxing didn't hurt as much as the burning sensation immediately afterwards, but i read it's a first time thing and your skin gets used to it. I still love my bare upper lip though, I just did it about 5 hours ago and it doesn't hurt at all anymore(not red anymore either) When I see new growth..will I buy them again? Maybe, but I'll pick tweezing first.
Works great; read instructions Feb 18, 2010 Really easy to use, convenient, and no mess whatsoever. BUT, the strips are VERY sticky, so handle with care. I got overzealous and waxed my upper lip a few times in the same spot trying to remove a few stubborn hairs that I should have just tweezed and took off a little bit of skin which left a red splotch and very light scab for a day. BUT, if you follow directions--these work like a dream--I use them on my 12-year-old daughter, just in the very middle of her brows to get rid of unibrow (at her request, not my suggestion!) And it's over in seconds with no lasting effects.

Gave me hives! Jan 06, 2010 I tried this product just once for my eyebrows... or shall I say eyebrow. At first I was impressed that removing the strip wasn't as painful as I had anticipated. I put the lotion on and examined the results. Within seconds I started to break out in hives that looked like blisters! I had to scrub the area with soap and water and then keep an ice cold compress on my skin for it to go down. After the hives finally went away, I examined the area- the hair was still there! That was last night. This morning I woke up and my skin was STILL red where I used the strip. So this wax somehow miraculously removed my flesh, but didn't take my hair with it. I will NEVER use this again!

SH wax strips Sep 29, 2009 I think this is a great product. I had been getting Brazillians professionally done over the summer and once it grew out again, I decided to give this kit a go. It worked sooo well, I was surprised! The only thing is that I have to get another kit to finish the rest but for 5.60 a pop thats not a problem. Beats $59.00 at the salon. Also, it was a bit sticky but the finishing oil included took it right off.
