This stuff actually works!! Jul 11, 2011
By M. Black Deet free and works very well! We have a lot of mosquitos because we live in the woods. This spray lotion is very effective in keeping them away. It works best if you rub it in your skin after applying it. It has a strong, but good smell. I've been using it for about 2 years now, ever since discovering it at a Kroger nearby. Works better than anything else I've tried that is deet free.

Effective and safe May 18, 2011
By Julie I was looking for a safe, non-chemical alternative to the topical insect repellents like Frontline and Advantage for my dogs, and BugBand was recommended to me. The ingredients are natural and it's safe for use on kids and pets, which means when we go out I can bring just 1 bottle of insect repellent for the whole family. Despite living in an area in which both mosquitoes and ticks are extremely prevalent, no one, human and dog alike, has gotten a tick, mosquito, or flea on them while wearing BugBand spray, even after hikes in the woods. The smell is a bit strong when first applied, but not unpleasant.

Mosquito's Don't Go Near this Stuff!!!! Feb 01, 2011

I just got back from a 20 day trip to the infamous Mosquito Capital of the world, the Philippines. The other people in my group were getting bit like crazy, 1 girl was even using Off! But thanks to this stuff I escaped the Philippines with only 1 or 2 mosquito bites!
Trust me Amazon Women & Men, this stuff works!!! The spray itself has a pleasant Lemon Oil Smell, goes on pretty smooth,& lasts around 6-10 hrs.
Overall, Bug Band provides the Best Protection against Mosquitoes & safe for the Environment!!!!
p.s. Don't forget to spray down your beddings at night to give u full protection.

Best mosquito repellant I've used. Aug 29, 2011
By Sean Hewitt This stuff seemed to work great for camping up on Mt. St. Helens in Washington. Where ever I sprayed seem to keep the mosquitoes away. And wherever is really the key with this stuff. I noticed on the second day where I didn't make sure to coat my body head to toe, that mosquitoes were still landing on me and biting me, but only in the areas I hadn't sprayed like my lower legs, or the back of my hands. If you want to keep them off, you really got to spray everything, including your clothing. But it's not so bad. This stuff doesn't really smell all that much and has a much lighter sent than actual bug bands do. And it's not super greasy or anything, so you don't really feel it on you.
Also, it's Deet free, so I don't feel like I'm taking a toxic bath as I spray myself down, or get so worried about eating food with the stuff on my hands.
While it kept the mosquitoes away, I can't say the same for flys or bees (or maybe they were just the kind of flys that look like bees. Not sure) I didn't have a day with it off to tell if it was the spray attracting them or something else, when ever I was walking I seemed to have one or the other hovering around me. They didn't seem to land on me as so much as constantly buzz me. So if you're looking to keep those away too, then I'm not sure if this is the stuff. But it is for mosquitoes.
The only bites I got are the first day when I got out of the car before spraying myself where I got several in minutes and then the second day when I hadn't coated myself so well. After coating, not a bite it seems like.

Works in light mosquito conditions.... Aug 25, 2011
By WLS Ok. I've used this for several years now. In our previous house, we were on a lake with a constant breeze. It wasn't a wooded area, and the mosquito population wasn't too problematic. I'm in South Louisiana, which is definitely mosquito country, but we didn't have a bunch at that house. Having said that, this product always did the job there. We recently moved to a house that is surrounded by trees and wooded areas. This product does very little for high mosquito areas. I've had to resort to the 5% DEET for my kids. I've tried ALL of the non-toxic options, and they just don't cut it. If you are up north or in a light mosquito area, this should work fine in my experience. Otherwise, keep searching.
