Avon Bug Guard Feb 13, 2008
By T. Lambrechts I live in tropical Central America where everything bites and stings. I find this Avon product to work very well - better than any other product I have tried. It is not available here, so make sure to buy it in the US if you intend visiting the jungle or the beach here.

Killer Bug Repellant Jun 24, 2008
By Hawaii Howie This product is fantastic! We live in Hawaii and at times go into the jungle which has some very mean bugs. We have tried everything under the sun and moon and found this to be the absolute best. Nice thing is, it doesn't have that awful smell that most do, it's not as greasy (who wants to grease up before hiking?). We can apply it and several hours later the product is still effective.
THIS STUFF EATS LEATHER/VINYL Apr 21, 2011
By Lou this product leeked on my leather seat of new car. Distroyed the coloring and weekned the fabric. Cost $450 to relace seat panel. Wonder what it's doing to your skin!
Works well but oily Feb 17, 2011
By Breanne Boyle I bought this specifically to keep bees away. It does seem successful at that part for sure. It is only spf 30 so it's not amazing for sunscreen but again, as long as the bees and yellow jackets stay away, it's fine. It is particularly oily though. I put it on my face (again to keep the bees away) and I find that it feels greasy and i break out from it.
STINKY! Didn't work for me, either! Jul 16, 2010
By zingingablenessedly Was at the local Avon store, and thought I'd try their bug repellent out, because Avon is usually good quality. Got this one because it was unscented.
It STINKS!!! I'm embarassed to even wear it around people, it stinks so much!
Tonight I used it before going to the park to walk my dogs, like I do most evenings -- YUCK! It stunk so much! So I leave, and see my neighbor walking down the street, so pulled over to talk to her. Rolled down the window, and she tried to shoo away a mosquito that came right to me then! I bet she smelled the stinky spray, too.
So went to the park, and had to swat about ten mosquitos away in my 15 minute walk! It sure didn't work for me!
What DOES work is "Cutter Skinsations insect repellent, with aloe & vitamin E - moisturizes skin, clean fresh scent." The bottle is comfortable to use, doesn't clunk if it drops like the hard metal can of Avon's reviewed product. It has always worked for me, and has a barely noticeable fragrance - not a stink at all. It actually smells nice!
So go for the Cutter instead. Can be purchased at most any store.
